31/12/12: Being the filthy homosexuals that we are, we’ve always preferred a New Year’s Steve to a New Year’s Eve – but given the immediate unavailability of the former we headed down to Vauxhall’s Eagle for a stomper of a Carpet Burn NYE knees-up that saw the guys heralding the dawn of 2013 in classic style.
Pulling in a rampaging throng of disco lovers for retro party tunes, tranny madness and a whole lot more, highlights included a hysteria-inducing midnight countdown, free bubbly for all and scene superstars, The Readers Wifes, making their annual pilgrimage from regular home Duckie, a mere New Year’s mince across the road, to grace the decks into the miniscule hours.
Amongst the melee we spotted performance-artiste legend, Scottee and his pals, swanking it up like it was the end of the world, never mind the end of the year. Elsewhere, a complimentary midnight mega-buffet, with all the trimmings, went down a treat as the guyz ‘n’ galz took on extra fuel for extended and unbridled antics through ‘til late.
Here’s to a cracker of a 2013 for the Carpet Burn crew and everyone at Eagle London!
