06/07/13: Vauxhall went back to the decade of glo-sticks and dodgy bowl-cuts for a Carpet Burn Presents ‘Carpet Gurn’ 90s spectacular at ‘top-secret warehouse rave venue’, The Eagle, last weekend.
Featuring a Saturday night throwback attack of chuggin’-choons-from-the-past and a whole lot more, QX Club News hit the bonkers bijou dancefloor for a midsummer night’s mash up that had the Burners cranking it up under the disco balls as if Mr Blobby and the poll tax riots were only yesterday.
Highlights saw DJ Johnny Kalifornia rockin’ da house like it wuz ’92 with a barrage of bumptious party licks from Madonna to acid house anthems that had hostess Ma Butcher stompin’ it on the stage in a crazy raver girrrl-stylee.
Meanwhile, the 90s nostalgia continued with an almost festivalesque atmosphere in the ever-popular Eagle garden as QX grabbed us some shots and popped out for a fag with fags under a balmy moonlit canopy. Back inside and there were more dancin’ delights to come from deck dazzler, Martyn Fitzgerald, as the thrills continued through ‘til 4am.
