CHER LLOYD @ G-A-Y

06/08/2011: The capital’s Heat-reading contingent were out in force as X-Factor controversialist Cher Lloyd made a victorious return to the G-A-Y stage last Saturday.

With her launch single rocketing to the top of the charts, the girl once labelled the ‘Thunderbird puppet Cheryl Cole’ struck back against the haters with a strutting, bouffant-tossing PA at one of the UK’s most well connected homo nights.

All glitter heels, spider eyelashes and squeaky vocals, a capacity crowd went wild for ‘Turn My Swag On’, stonking new track ‘Superhero’ and divisive debut smash, ‘Swagger Jagger’, with a legion of twenty somethings lip-synching in appreciation on the heaving dancefloor.

Celebrating hitting the number one spot with an industrial-grade cake presented by G-A-Y promoter, Jeremy Joseph, Britain’s latest pop dynamo swept out in a whirlwind of big hair and sass, proving that, like her loathe her, this is one little lady who knows how to make an impression.

Meanwhile there were still hours more thrills to be had with the G-A-Y DJs letting rip across four rooms of turbo boosted pop, retro and dance sounds as the West End antics continued through ‘til the morning.  Check out the action next week with the return of the G-A-Y Annual Pool Party!
