CLUB i

03/06/11: QX checked out the underground action as a crowd of gays, goths and twisted trannies raised the roof on Factory for the launch of Club i last Friday. Featuring two dizzying dancefloors of alternative party licks, promoter and GaydarRadio DJ, Phil Marriott, made sure the inaugural bash went off like a rocket and had the QX indie posse burning it up into the night. Highlights included sirenesque seductress, Sarah Blackwood, live on stage with a greatest hits rundown, including mega-smash ‘Stars’. Meanwhile, a star-studded attendance list included none other than ex-Jordan squeeze Alex Reid (still hanging around with drag queens we see). Elsewhere, Phil joined resident Kate Way in the main room for an indie/alternative and 80s mash-up whilst guests Art Phucker and Raj Rudolph went into an industrial and electro frenzy in room 2. As if that wasn’t enough to shout about, a sneak preview of tracks from the forthcoming Depeche Mode Remixes 2 album drew in feverish fans from as far afield as Sweden. Club i is back on 1st July with a Human League special!
