CLUB ROAR
Posted on September 24, 2011
24/09/11: QX Club News got down for a disco mauling as Club Roar unleashed a wild animal of a party at Union last Saturday.
Aimed firmly at the capital’s bears (along with all their friends and admirers of course) the gay club scene may be saturated with hirsute happenings at the moment, but if last weekend was anything to go by, London’s homosexuals still can’t get enough of beefed-up blokes’ bashes.
With a stripped-down concept, free from stage shows, go-go’s and flashy production, the promotions crew kept the focus on the music and the crowd of hunks packed onto the dancefloors, with two rooms of storming grooves channelling a funkin’ minimalist vibe that had us growling in delight.
Top mentions go to the DJ posse, including Tim McLoone, slamming down classic and contemporary anthems on the main floor, along with Leonardo GloVibes, spinning a mash up of underground house and disco in the second room.
Elsewhere, the proceedings continued in the outdoor area as Vauxhall’s party faithful stopped for a fag break before heading back into the fray. We’re already hyped for the next event on Saturday 22nd October!
