19/12/14: The Kingsland Road party posse was out in force as Dalston Superstore rocked the bauble-strewn block for a Christmas extravaganza last weekend.
Featuring two festive floors of seasonal shenanigans, there was no room at the inn as a capacity crowd stomped the boards into the small hours for legendary DJ antics, tinsel-topped trannies and much more. A world-class deck line up saw none other than fabled DJ star, Joey Negro, joining the likes of Hannah Holland, Jonjo Jury, Mikki Most and Dan Beaumont for a bumpin’ barrage of boombox beats, keeping the rabble on the rampage through ‘til closing time. Highlights in the basement included Severino letting loose for a sensational Santa’s sack of bulging grooves that had the bijou dancefloor heaving like an underground grotto. Upstairs and Mama Christmas – John Sizzle, joined A Man to Pet, spinning a giddy advent advance of crazed carols, despite a mid-mosh technical meltdown. Meanwhile, a Narniaesque pile-up ensued with Legs and Coq high-kicking their way to dazzling disco heaven atop the bar. Outside, frosty air lent something of an urban fairy tale atmosphere to the messy proceedings as the oddball antics showed no sign of relenting amidst the mid-winter madness.
