14/12/13: Hipsters and homos were out in force for a seasonal spectacular as Kingsland Road’s hottest hangout reigned twisted and triumphant with its ‘Dalston Superstore vs Bust Yo Nut Christmas’ blowout.
Featuring a whole night of jingle-bell clanging antics and holiday-hoofing delights, two floors of outrageous action saw the likes of East End superstars Dan Beaumont and Mikki Most taking on Boris, Severino and Mistamaker for a festive face-off that had the masses moshing on the dancefloor for ironic R&B at ground level and low-slung beats in the bumpin’ basement.
Meanwhile, cross-dressing ‘Secret Santa’, John Sizzle, upset the reindeer with a scary mask and a couple of strategically placed baubles (yes, he went there) before heading downstairs to his dazzling disco grotto.
Elsewhere, there was a bar-top PA from Danish diva, Mercedes, to look forward to, not to mention boozy giveaways and some of the crazee-est clubbers in town as the sloppy sleigh ride took flight through ‘til the small hours.
