strong>12/09/15: QX got grrrly for a butt-kickin ‘Back to School’ installment of Debbie at Bethnal Green’s supercool Resistance Gallery last weekend.
Featuring a rampaging roster of wayward DJ antics, live action and more, a ragged crowd of punks, riot grrrls, homos and hipsters raised the roof into the small hours at one of the hottest underground hangouts in town. Hysteria-inducing highlights on the dancefloor saw resident deck tearaways, Sina Sparrrow and Bitchcakes, joined by special guest star, Jane Dinsmore, for a greatest hits rundown, celebrating the baddest laydeez of rock, pop, indie and disco. Taking in a veritable smorgasbord of anarchic anthems, the pogoing kidz worked themselves into a frenzy for the likes of Blondie, X-Ray Spex, Hole, Siouxsie, The Slits et al. Meanwhile, there was much more moshing under the party lites to come, plus an exclusive performance from Rudi Douglas, as the shocking shenanigans continued through ‘til outrageously late!
