Dirty Disko

04/07/15: It was a full house at Dalston Superstore for their first time hosting Dirty Disko.

Not a star spangled banner in sight this 4th of July, but there were fireworks as DJs Mattias Dabo, Johnny Kalifornia, Steven Artis and Alex Georgiou spun some serious house to keep the crowd dancing ‘til 3am. It was refreshing to see some new faces and some old ones at the store; it was clear that the success of Dirty Disko at its old home of Barcode had brought some faithful followers north of the river for the evening. The Queen of the Spanish Mafia, LaPequeña and man-eater, Deborah Ombres were serving pescado upstairs with killer heels and clutches as they worked the floor. House heads and club kids filled the laser-lit, smoke-filled basement for some classic deep vocal house. With heavy beats and hard drops it was impossible to stop moving, creating a room full of HOT and sweaty guys and girls. The upstairs bar became the perfect area for a breather and some space to wipe your brow before descending to the deep once again. Even as people continued to join in late into the night we had space to maneuver and mingle, with lighter funky summer house vibes in the air. A splash of disco here, some pop there, even Beyoncé was in the house.
