13/02/16: In February 2004 Tony Blair was in power and two former Spice Girls were still haunting the charts as solo acts.
In Vauxhall, where the futuristic bus station was just being built, the Eagle, now host to favourites such as Men Inc., R18 and Horse Meat Disco, was opening its doors. And so on the 13th last weekend the Eagle was celebrating its 12th anniversary.
Just to confuse things a bit, I suppose. Herded by the fabulous Scottee, a large crowd of supporters, including well-known DJs, had gathered to help the friendly crew mark the day as it should be.
A free buffet was provided for the peckish and a lucky punter went home with a hamper of alcoholic goodies for having managed to remember and share their story of a memorable night in the place. Remembering Saturday might prove a little trickier after that! Thankfully there are surely many memorable nights to come yet. Here’s to the next 12 years!
