FALKE GOES TO WAR

This Saturday, the East End is bracing itself for one of the hottest parties to hit Londontown for some time. War, the bi-monthly East Bloc slice of hot boys and sexy beats not only shimmies over to the larger Studio Space in Whitechapel, but also boasts legendary DJ Fred Falke on its line-up. We sent War General Kris Di Angelis for a quick chinwag with the super spinner…

Kris: What was the first track you made and how does it sound now?

‘Intro’. It sounds like French Touch!

If you had to pick a favourite remix you’ve made, what would it be?

‘Heavy Cross’ for The Gossip. I LOVE their music!

What are your top 3 inspirations?

Pop Music, movies and travelling.

Who would you like to work with that you haven’t already?

Depeche Mode

What record by somebody else do you wish you had made yourself?

‘Transformer’ by Lou Reed, so I would’ve been in the studio with David Bowie

What record never leaves your box?

My remix of ‘Golden Age’ by Whitest Boy Alive

What do you like about London?

Shopping!

How the hell did you come up with that Lana Del Rey remix? That was a bit genius!

She’s absolutely amazing! When I work on remixes I have to be inspired by the original track and ‘National Anthem’ is a GREAT song!

WAR – GET TO KNOW!

In the last year WAR has gone from an almost secret underground party to a juggernaut, roller coaster night out with a reputation envied by many.  As a Saturday night out it has relentlessly attracted the most exciting DJs and the hottest, most party-loving crowd imaginable.

In the summer of 2012 it ransacked the Summer Rites festival, storming the East Bloc Tent with 7 DJs playing back-to-back and midget gogo boys dressed as little soldiers. It then joined up with Room Service (it’s brotherly West-End affiliate) to put on the most show-stopping after party featuring Kim Ann Foxman and Amanda Lepore.

To celebrate its first year, they’ve gone all out and teamed up with Summer Rites again to put on War Blow at the super hot new venue Wapping Studio Spaces, home of the Blocheads parties.

Featuring its incredible list of resident DJs Severino, Munroe Bergdorf, DMS, and Joshyou Are, and adding some guests in the form of Josh (creator of Hard Cock Life), K-GEE (90s UK Garage legend) and the incredible international DJ/Producer Fred Falke.

• Don’t miss War Blow – The 1st Birthday at Studio Space (100 Pennington Street, E1W 2BB – nearest tube: Shadwell) on Saturday 16th February, from 10:30pm-7am. Tickets are available via Facebook.com/summerritesevents.
