17/12/11: Vauxhall whipped itself into a funkin’ frenzy for a bumper festive edition of Funk & Ride as QX Club News hot-stepped it down to the Eagle last Saturday.
Good things come in big packages at this time of year as far as we’re concerned, and we certainly weren’t disappointed with the seasonal offerings being unwrapped amidst the wacko Winter Wonderland that is Eagle, of one of the capital’s coolest venues.
Featuring a blizzard of party bangers at the decks from residents Fred Mann and Ronnie King alongside scene fave, Ben Jamin, highlights included a bauble-bustin’ 70s disco, rare groove and classic soul set from Mr Jamin’ that had the frantic throng burning up the dancefloor into the night.
Meanwhile, there was more of the same to come from funk master Fred as the crowd of bears, boys and blokes gave it up for the sort of seriously solid tuneage we don’t seem to hear enough of these days. Happy Christmas guys – we hope to see more of you next year!
