19/03/11: In a break from reality show newbies, last week G-A-Y had true West End royalty on stage in the form of Kerry Ellis, leading star of Les Misérables, Wicked and Oliver! and we have to say she received a louder and more rapturous reception from the capacity crowd than we have head for almost any other performer. With tracks from her ‘Anthems’ album like ‘Love It When You Call’, ‘I Know Him So Well’ as a duet with the audience and ‘Diamonds Are Forever’, the highlight of the show was the new G-A-Y remix of ‘Defying Gravity’ from Wicked, with all the proceeds going to the Elton John AIDS Foundation. It was then all back stage to the green room where she signed copies of the charity single for anyone who bought them, and at only £2 there really was no excuse!
