21/02/15: Wow. So along we swished to Heaven for a night of huge show tunes and big West End hits as musical star Louise Dearman and friends took centre stage for last Saturday’s G-A-Y.
And when her friends include some of musical theatres mightiest talents, you know you’re in for a good time. Sharing the stage with the swoonsome threesome that is Ben Forster, Killian Donnelly and Ben Richards, that’s one ‘singing in the shower’ session we’d love to join in on. As they blasted their way through renditions of hits from classics like Rock of Ages and Dirty Dancing, we were literally having the time of our lives to ‘Time of My Life’. Of course, the biggest applause came for Louise herself as she belted out ‘Defying Gravity’ from Wicked – and deservedly so being the only actress to have played the roles of both Glinda and Elphaba. In a month that saw classic acts like Atomic Kitten and current pop darlings like Kelly Clarkson and Nick Jonas headline, this week showcased once more the true variety that G-A-Y is all about.
