G-A-Y ‘X FACTOR – THE TWIST’

15/10/11: X-Factor fever was in the air as QX Club News checked out a heaving Saturday night at G-A-Y last weekend.

The shock move – labeled ‘The Twist’ – to force all of the judges to vote off one of their contestants after the first week’s live shows seemed more than a little harsh on the four exiting acts who, having battled through the judges house’s stage, scarcely had time to prove their worth to the public.

But did the star panel make the right choices? We weren’t so sure as three of the acts took to the Heaven stage (fourth hopeful, soldier Jonjo, having gone AWOL). First up, and Liverpudlian sweetheart, James Michael, strummed his way through a trio of tracks with a Beatlesesque twang and no sign of those TV studio nerves.

Meanwhile, there was a surprise in store for birthday girl rock chick, Amelia Lilly, as none other than X Factor judge Tulisa interrupted her performance to sing happy birthday.

Finally, it was left to talented Essex duo, Two Shoes, to get the G-A-Y crowd going wild with their storming take on Girls Aloud’s ‘Something Kinda Ooh’. But with all that excitement out of the way, there was still plenty more to keep the G-A-Y pop-pickers occupied, with four rooms of chart-bustin’ partying continuing well into the small hours.

Head back to Heaven this weekend when Matt Cardle and the first X Factor act to be voted off by the public, Nu Vibe, hit the G-A-Y stage. The G-A-Y juggernaut continues!
