18/06/11: Saturday night saw the Gutterslut boys return to East Bloc, with the star of the show birthday boy DJ Nic Fischer. With East London’s fave femme fatale Ilona International headlining, the bill promised much and delivered even more. On arrival we were greeted to the sight of a roadblock queue the like of which East Bloc has never seen, stretching around the corner and up the side street! After snogging Miss Krystilina on the door, we headed downstairs into a rammed Rave Room, with perfect timing to witness Per’s trademark bouncy dark electro sending an eclectically dressed and up-for-it crowd of trannies, muscle boys, stray straight couples and East London scenesters wild, priming them for Ilona’s set. The American magician did not disappoint, treating the crowd to a musical masterclass of underground dirty house. While Ilona was tearing up the main floor, we checked out the packed-out Disco Room where Jeffrey Hinton and Ralf O treated the trannies to a generous serving of twisted disco deep into the night. Overall, it has to be said we have rarely had so much fun at the ‘Slut – after three years the night seems to get better and better – and we simply can’t wait for the next installment of sluttiness at Summer Rites Remixed festival in Shoreditch Park on 10th July.
