GUTTERSLUT - 3RD BIRTHDAY

GUTTERSLUT – 3RD BIRTHDAY

26/02/11: After spending the day in my hometown of Birmingham, one was ready to spend the evening in altogether classier surroundings… GutterSlut it is, then. It was a big night for the Slutter posse, celebrating three years of whoring ‘round East London in a sea of glitter, dodgy weaves and garish outfits – but with some of the most fun party people and top-notch tuneage available to polysexual capital dwellers. Once again based at the Rhythm Factory, just a hop, skip and a mince from Brick Lane, the place was flamin’ heaving with one of the most gorgeous and creative crowds we’ve seen for a long time – and you know this bitch has been round the block more times than your Uncle Reg’s battered Morris Minor. Jonny Woo gave it raw sex and pearly queen chic as he writhed around the stage with his decadently battered entourage. And if we thought the spectacle of the Bullring Shopping Centre was a gaudy eyesore, that was nothing compared to our beloved Ma Butcher dressed up like Su Pollard, yet still managing to look even more demure than the lady herself. QX Editors Kletus and I proved growing old doesn’t make you graceful, slow dancing to disco electro at 6am all with the finesse of a pair of one-leddged, cider-riddled tramps. With our head lolling and slurring, the club owners had the window lickers special bus on standby, just to be on the safe side. An absolutely AMAZING night – we’re already waiting patiently in the gutter for the next one.
