16/11/13: Last Saturday the QX team took to East London, for not one, but two birthdays.
The first being that of our Editorial Assistant Darren Palfrey, and the second of the night itself. Had it really only been a year since Handsome reared its attractive head?
Yep. To host the night, they’d recruited the beautiful Johanna Londinium and Andrew Moore (thank God Scotland didn’t want him, eh?).
The night began quite tamely, with the wildest thing going off before midnight being some of the Shoreditch “fashion” choices – but sure enough – this was just the calm before the storm. Johnny Kalifornia laid down the commercial tunes for pussy-popping pop lovers, while Mistamaker and Lawrence Arbus served up old school Hip-Hop in the side room.
Naturally, we took our resident spot under the fan (budget wind machine). In the main room, there was no chance of cooling down though with guest DJ Robert Owens and Dave Kendrick hotting things up with house beats.
When it came time to leave we were clinging to the door frame like Brooke Shields to the shreds of a career. There’s no doubt we’ll be back for the December instalment.
