Helmet Club @ Vogue Fabrics

16/01/15: On Friday night we braved the cold, icy streets of East London and prepared ourselves for some heat, as we headed to Vogue Fabrics for exclusive access to the infamous Helmet Club. What is a Helmet Club you ask?

Well, a certain not-so-gentle man was kind enough to inform me that it is, quite simply: “A gathering or party where attendance is mostly, if not all, dudes…”

The Helmet Club mantra is pretty damn simple; blokes, boys and no bullshit. Oh, and obviously hardcore dance action, which is definitely what we got as we descended into Stoke Newington’s naughtiest basement! From the deep house and self–styled ‘mermaid techno’ of bearded Spanish sweetheart Greggo After All, to the delicious machismo disco of Richard Kahwagi, we got ourselves into one seriously sweaty rubdown.

As the night drew to a close, we’re pretty sure we saw some things on the dancefloor that we can’t tell you about in the pages of this publication, but it definitely had us holding on to our helmets! Then to finish us all off, hunk of spunk Wes Baggaley took us into the small hours, with the kind of beats the boys like to bump to with their buds. Fit.

Until next time boys! See you down there…
