HEROES

11/08/12: London’s quite simply the envy of the world at the moment. After the hordes of exotic athletes, hunky sport buffs and sun-kissed tourists descending into town, what gay wouldn’t want to be here? Last Saturday night was definitely no exception. As the entire gay population of the world glued themselves to Tom Daley, and perhaps gawp in awe at those wonderfully tight figure-hugging trunks of his, our Heroes of clubland were franticly wondering how they’d measure up to all the Olympic excess.

Our expectations were high, but Warboy and his super-squad of DJs mustered the power to create a party worthy of a gold medal. The Egg garden boasted it’s true potential, with the likes of Hearz, David Agrella and Clint Lee Zombies pumping out the deepest house grooves. We can’t give them all the credit though as the chilled-out summer vibe was boosted tremendously by flocks of foreign fitties that we can’t thank the Olympics for enough!

Distracting us from the Italian stallions was Trade resident Nick Tcherniak, who had the basement shacking with techy house, all before Reset Robot and Gregor Tresher took to the decks. For those who ventured into the terrace were equally rewarded by Jim Warboy. Treating us to a beefy two-hour set, Jim played those pumping, acidic tracks that we love him for. His musical pulling powers were certainly exploited last Saturday, as the terrace was soon bursting at every corner.

They might not be Olympic champions, but anyone that can turn this once-industrial area of north London into a haven of exotic hunks and DJs worthy of goose bumps are true Heroes!
