HOMO ELECTRIC

HOMO ELECTRIC

05/03/11: I’m not going to mince words here – I fookin’ love it when it’s a Superstore Saturday. Dalston Superstore that is, I don’t mean trawling down your local Nisa for some over-priced milk and eggs. Tonight was another hefty slice of fashionista deliciousness and top tuneage from the venue that’s cornered the market in cool. And if you haven’t heard of Homo Electric, then you’re just not with it, dolly… either that, or you haven’t been to Manchester recently. Bringing some naughty north to the sexy sarf, the disco/techno/house sounds flew thick and fast in the throbbing, sweaty surrounds of the basement, courtesy of Jamie Bull and Luke Unabomber (we so want that to be his real name – hey, if Allcock, Assman and Butt can be a real surnames then so can this!) And forgive us for sounding like a Peckham teenager for a moment but – OH MY DAYS…. where are they shipping in these buff tings from? A very dear friend and I almost had fisticuffs over a floppy-haired, chiselled-cheeked wonder! Upstairs, The Lovely Jonjo (also very lickable) Gibson and Holestar spun some hip house, nu wave and synthpop divinity that had us dancing like lunatics and seriously leaking all over our TENA Lady.

Those northerners might be difficult to understand and have a strange penchant for chips and grav-eh, but they don’t half know how to put on a party!

Check out more photos from this event and plan your next night out, all in the palm of your hand with the ‘QX Gay London’ iPhone app. Available to download FREE from the iTunes app store.
