Horse Meat Disco

01/01/14: Horse Meat Disco saddled up for a New Year’s ‘Double Derby’ as Vauxhall’s Eagle crashed into 2014 with customary aplomb.

Kicking off with a New Year’s Eve bash that had deck residents James Hillard and Jim Stanton frantically hoofing it towards midnight with help from ‘Queen of Fire Island’ Lina Bradford, QX Club News also checked out the action on New Year’s Day for the return of the NYD Gymkhana, celebrating its tenth year and featuring all four resident DJs, reunited for an all-day party to remember.

Highlights included no end of disco bangers on the exhilarating Eagle dancefloor, with the likes of Luke Howard and Severino spinning enough Horse Meat classics to get us clip-clopping into the small hours under the festive baubles.

Moving on and there were outrageous onstage antics to come from performance artiste extraordinaire, A Man To Pet, and her pals as ‘Legs & Co’, with a ‘Top of the Pops’ classic rendition of ‘Funky Town’ that had the gals channelling 70s decadence like kipper ties and the three day week never went out of fashion.

Outside, the brave and foolhardy (the latter being us) took on the elements for tomfoolery and socialising in the Eagle garden before diving back into the fray for more NYD Horse Meat high-jinks through ‘til fashionably late. Horse Meat Disco is back at Eagle London this Sunday!
