KU KLUB

27/07/13: After weeks of a long-overdue scorching hot summer, we were at last treated to a tropical storm just in time for Saturday night.

Wardrobes were scoured for anything with a hood, and only hair products with the strongest hold would do if we were going to look remotely hot by the time we made it to Lisle Street.

It seems anyone who was anyone was in Ku Bar, staying in the dry but proving to be anything but boring. The vests were on as if it was still 35 degrees and tans were on show to remind us it was summer. Bunkering down in Ku Klub, the temperatures were certainly soaring.

As if we were recreating a Britney Spears video, Ku Bar’s basement dancefloor was hot, sweaty and full of bass. Boys were busting a sweat rather than dripping rain droplets, and we’re sure we saw some twerking inspired by DJs Doug Silva and Athanas Sak.

Thanks to the £5 cover charge, there was plenty of hard-earned cash to splash on drinks and that ‘one-more-shot’, so by the time we left in the early hours we didn’t even notice it was still pissing down back on street level. There’s no doubt the Saturday night crowd would have gladly stayed there all night though, rain or shine.
