04/06/16: Continuing our weekend of eastern promise, Saturday night saw us descend on Dalston Superstore, the Kingsland High Street hang-out that has become shorthand for the east London party scene, for the start of the summer edition of Les Poppeurs.
Pulling a stunning trio of out-of-towners out of the bag, they had the legendary Teki latex, curator/organiser for Boiler Room Paris, Berlin’s very own funky walking Prince encyclopedia Snax (Paul Bonomo) and fresh from the success of throwing quite the soiree with Honey Soundsystem in Seattle, Bottom Forty record label founder Nark.
Add to that Les Poppeurs co-founders Whitney Weiss and Rachael and you have the ingredients for a roadblock of Italo, NRG, and handbaggy house with high levels of funk and boogie.
Of course DSS wouldn’t be complete without a trashed bearded tranny on the bar and more hot gay-curious straight boys than you can shake a stick at. Italotastico.
