17/05/14: Everyone’s Little Gay Brother (and his big gay friends) snuck outta the house on Saturday night, scampered to Dalston Superstore, threw on some records, hopped on the bar, shook his lil’ booty and stuck out his tongue!
Dalston’s own Clayton Wright and DJ Chris Camplin and their cabana crew threw a Cock Tropicana beach party complete with inflatable palm trees, short shorts and plenty of rum-soaked cocktails. Lil’ bros gymtastic Chester and Carnival queen Ce’, swathed in flaming orange crepe and feathered headdress, spun to the familiar dance-happy disco pop of special guest DJ Fritz Helder, 2Dads’ Boy and Ben Jamin.
Down in in our Big Brother’s basement room, landed the MenWhoFellToEarth, before we were treated to a magical 4-hour b2b set by DJs Camplin and Frankco: “the most seamless experience we’ve ever had.”
When asked how they put together such a tight programme, Camplin was surprised. “We just did it all right there on the night,” he smiled. “Frankco and I just work so well together; we read each other’s feelings and it all comes together organically.”
“LGB is more of a festival collective than a pub party,” Clayton sums up. True, DS mgr. Caitlin, her staff and the LGB team worked like family making the event feel more like a weekend party in the park than a regular night out. So, what does LGB have hidden under his bed for next time?
“Dunno,” Clayton grinned, “but something involving cameltoe.”
