Misfits

We were shaking like Whitney on a Tuesday morning when Misfits was snatched away from the weekly Wednesday social slot in our diary. And last week it finally returned! It’s always tough to know when a club night relaunches whether it will quite live up to its previous home, but we can assure you it did, and so much more.

And while the crowd settled in to Misfit’s new residence, promoter Mark-Ashley Dupé settled in behind the decks – and before long East Bloc’s main room was busier than Azaelia Bank’s gums. Hosts Nick Byam and Jordan Crawford welcomed faces old and new before taking a few bitches to college on the dance floor, whilst Matthew Kenny sported sleek violet locks to live for.

Favourite Jeffery Hinton took over laying Beyoncé tracks left, right and centre (and coincidentally we do believe he ‘woke up like that’). When it started to get a little late and we attempted to hail a taxi up outta there, Mark-Ashley was quick to drag us into the club and back to the bar – now that’s what you call hosting. We’ll be billing him for the hangover.

Nastee McQuaid filled the last slot (that’s not a sexual innuendo), before the crowd were literally begging for more come 3am. Not the begging we were used to from drunk Shorebitches in the early hours, but we can understand why. No longer would we be filling that midweek void with takeaways and tragic TV shows.

And we mean this is the classiest way, but it felt so good to be White Girl Wasted on a Wednesday again. Welcome back Misfits (and Thursday hangovers).
