Popcorn

03/11/14: Last Monday a familiar cry went up just a stones throw away from Parliament – remember, remember the (ahem) 3rd of November – signalling yet another of Popcorns full-on pyromanic nights of dance debauchery and scintillating stage shows.

PLOT was a night dedicated to things that go bang in the night, but unlike the previous week’s Hallowe’en ghosties, this week the bang was followed by the acrid stench of sulphur as giant pyros, silver jets and waterfall cascades were detonated to the accompaniment of its best house music.

Adam Turner lit the aural touch paper before special guest DJ and Portuguese super star Pete Tha Zouk played his first ever London set b2b with resident Paulo Moreno. On the stage and poles the super-hot Popcorn muscle boys and drag dancers whipped the crowd to a frenzy, but it was really all about the music and fireworks.

Such a simple idea and yet one of the best nights of dance we have witnessed in London in an age. Popcorn guru Chris Selby – we salute you.
