Popcorn

09/06/14: As throbbing samba drums beckoned us in courtesy of main room DJs Phil Marriot and John Hammond, Heaven was transformed into, well, Brazilian Heaven: the entire main room was turned into a center football stadium from pitch to goal posts and walls adorned with LED video screens and draped with Brazilian beach scenes as a mini Cristo Redemptor perched on a sand covered stage beneath the big screen Ipanema Beach video all perfect for the hot sweaty night ahead.

The night of course belonged to Brazil’s best exports and London’s luck, DJs Renato Porto doing back to back sets with golden boy DJ Ale Amaral who has got to be on every club’s must-have list. A killer smile mixed with killer beats, Amaral kept the night swirling and naughties twerking.

At magic hour came the unstoppable escapades of dancers Sara, Anderson and Rikardo festooned in feathers, abs and not much else all in syncopated rhythm that had the packed house of pipoca (popcorn) from all walks of life perking, popping and jaw-dropping til we were showered with confetti and balloons and a couple speedos I think.

“Incredible!” cried teary-eyed Brazilian Ze Pereira “I miss Brazil so much and Popcorn brought a bit of here! I can’t thank them enough!”
