QUEER NATION - 20TH BIRTHDAY

QUEER NATION – 20TH BIRTHDAY

22/01/11: Last weekend saw a bit of a milestone in London Clubland as Queer Nation celebrated two decades of providing safe and attitude free partying for all, from black to white, girls to boys and every upferit, friendly character in between. From the Gardening Club to Substation South and Factory to Crash and now to Fire, each venue they have called home has created a new and different vibe for each era of their life. Welcoming back old faces and debuting new, the three rooms (house, disco and R’n’B) saw the likes of Luke Howard, Jeffrey Hinton, Per QX, Big John and the boys of Total Beur, Paris playing music for the mind, soul and body for a sexy mixed urban crowd, and despite unfortunate technical difficulties that meant the sound kept cutting out on a couple occasions, it did absolutely nothing to dampen the spirit or party atmosphere for the packed crowd. Here’s to another two decades!
