30/10/11: QX ventured across the River Styx (aka the Vauxhall gyratory system) and into a dark netherworld of nefarious doings (no, we don’t mean the Kennington branch of Tesco) as S.L.A.G.S/Chill-Out got gruesome with a Sunday spectacular Halloween Special last weekend.
Attracting a capacity crowd of hair-raising hunks for a beastly blowout, the highlight of an unearthly afternoon saw ‘Wicked Witch of the South-East’, the frighteningly talented D.E. Experience, broom-sticking her way through the London gridlock for a stage spooktacular that had her surpassing herself for outrageous content.
From dead celebrity jokes to topical swipes at pillars of the gay scene, a witching-hour repertoire took in everything from the Rocky Horror Show to Phantom of the Opera and her take on Halloween party standard The Monster Mash: ‘he had a gash, he had a monster gash…’ (alas, we’ve come across that problem ourselves on more than one occasion dear).
Meanwhile there were more monster beats to come from twisted DJ trio ‘Count’ Simon Le Vans, Andy ‘Trick or Treat’ Almighty and Sean ‘Pumpkin’ Sirrs, with enough block-rockin’ antics to raise the dead as the RVT demonstrated, yet again, why it continues to pull in the masses every weekend. S.L.A.G.S/Chill Out and the D.E. Experience are back this Sunday!
