01/01/13: Despite our fragility after the New Year’s Eve festivities, we were still more than up for a fully-fuelled ‘detox-retox’ party as S.L.A.G.S/Chill-Out romped back for a second holiday helping of sass, sleaze and dazzling dancefloor action on New Year’s Day.
Featuring the inestimable talents of one ‘Trannie Lennox’ – the love child of world-class pop diva Annie Lennox and the ever-so-slightly less gifted Billy Connolly – resident cross-dresser, the D.E. Experience, begrudgingly gave up the RVT stage to her alter-ego, welcoming in 2013 in outrageous fashion.
Unleashing her Glaswegian refinement and finesse on the streets of London with a mash up of Eurythmics smash hits, outrageous banter and a poignant New Year rendition of (decapitated in a plane crash) Patsy Cline’s ‘Crazy’, Vauxhall’s longest-running star of the stage made sure the RVT boys got their money’s worth, in a sort of randy, raucous and wonderfully rowdy, nineteenth century-music hall style – and that’s why we love her!

Meanwhile, there were hours more mirth ‘n’ mayhem to come with the legendary DJ triptych of Simon Le Vans, Andy Almighty and Sean Sirrs keeping the joint jumpin’ right up ‘til midnight! S.L.A.G.S/Chill Out is back at the RVT this Sunday from 2pm!
