01/01/14: QX Club News hit the glitzy streets of Vauxhall as the RVT followed up its S.L.A.G.S/Chill Out New Year’s Eve spectacular with an only slightly more subdued New Year’s Day bash, enticing a throng of revellers to return for even more of the monumental DJ sounds and onstage action which keep the masses coming back to this happening hotspot week after week.
Lifting off into 2014 like a rocket, sensational sounds at the decks came from Simon Le Vans, Little Robb and Sean Sirrs, whipping up a seasonal snowstorm of commercial house tunes and massive dance anthems that had the RVT faithful stomping the boards into the night.
Meanwhile, there was a New Year’s treat in store for cabaret fans as drag superstar, La Voix, hijacked the hallowed 5:30 spot onstage, wowing the crowds with a festive repertoire of showtunes and pop classics taking in Barbara Streisand and Shirley Bassey, before moving onto a rousing ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ that had the audience trilling ‘turn around bright eyes’ and us feeling all warm and wintry inside.
Elsewhere, there was plenty more S.L.A.G.S/Chill Out mischief to come as the dazzling deck work continued right through ‘til midnight. S.L.A.G.S/Chill Out is back in action at the RVT this Sunday, featuring the multi-talented Charlie Hides TV!
