SALVATION

30/09/12: Salvation, one of the gay scenes most glamorous nights, was turning fourteen years old and to celebrate, one of our favourite hostesses, Johanna Londinium (@MzzLondinium in case you wondered), was hosting the backroom boudoir.

It would have just been rude not to continue on to the final minute of the weekend. So, down we went to Leicester Square’s Café de Paris, to get into bed with Johanna until midnight.

The Café’ is a venue fitting for Salvation, with chandeliers across the ceiling for your sequins to sparkle under and twisting staircases for high heels to navigate and make their entrance onto the dancefloor (we won’t discuss one glamorous staff member, tripping on this and launching themselves into the dancefloor, at the feet of a group of bouncing muscle men – who needs gogos with this level of entertaiment!).

The dancers on stage, flexing their muscles in barely-there outfits, reflected much of Salvation’s clientele: hot men, gym bodies and little in the way of clothing – we certainly weren’t complaining!

The ever regal Johanna suited perfectly the elegant backdrop of the venue and, with her blonde curls and supermodel legs, looked like a vintage postcard pin-up girl. Salvation, true to its reputation, put on a glittering evening of beautiful people in beautiful surroundings. Bring on the next party!
