SOCIETY

16/04/11: What’s that you say, dear? A new night in Soho? You’ll have to speak up; I’ve been standing next to club speakers since the Great War and I’m in dire need of an oversized comedy ear trumpet. Like that old bird from ‘Allo Allo. I may be turning 135 but don’t think for a second I’d miss reviewing a shiny new party in gayland – simply point me to the topless man meat in attendance and I’ll rate each one according to lickability. Tallying up the average score of hotness in the room is how every real journalist reviews a club, you know. Thankfully, Society scored ‘Serious Trouser Twitch’ on the hunk scale, upped even more by sexy host Jay Roberts – oiled up and at your service all night long. Opening night DJs Brent Nichols and Jamie Head spun a delicious array of funky vocal house to a jam-packed and lively dance floor, with Mr Head getting slightly harder (hee hee) as the night went on. The crowd was a veritable throng of saucy Sohoites, sexy city slickers, gym bunnies, uptown boys and downtown girls – we look forward to seeing what fun this particular Society will bring to our gay civilization. A hot new Friday night for Soho.
