Songs of Praise

05/04/14: QX Club News joined London’s coolest pop-lovers as Songs of Praise hit East Bloc for a ‘Spring Break’ spectacular last weekend. Featuring two rampant rooms of chart-smashing delights and untrammelled underground sounds, a crowd of unruly Eastsiders packed into City Road’s bijou club space as the resident DJ posse ripped up those Bloc rockin’ pop licks into the dawn at one of the hottest homo joints in town.

Highlights saw The Sugarlow Boys workin’ it with Rita, Madonna, Beyoncé et al for an eighties-be-coiffed pile-up in the main room that had the disco darlings throwing their hands up ‘til closing time.

Next door and things got edgier amidst the intimate confines of one of the scene’s tiniest dancefloors (not that we mind getting intimate with all that hot totty) for a subterranean barrage of bangin’ beats with barely room to strut a leopard-print stiletto.

Meanwhile, there were social antics galore in the cave-like lounge areas with QX watching an endless procession of weird and wonderful folks parading beneath the neon.

Songs of Praise is at East Bloc on the first Saturday of the month!
