03/04/14: On Saturday night, we put on our Sunday best to attend the hot-house of worship, East Bloc, for Songs of Praise: Loverboy.
A time to give thanks to the holiest deities of pop music, high priest Neil Prince, deacon David Oh and the saintly Sugalow Boys led the congregation in a jam-packed, sweaty sermon which paid tribute to the likes of Rhi-sus Christ, The Virgin (Mariah) Carey and of course, the Holy (Britney) Spearit.
After a few communion wines, we made a pilgrimage to Room 2 where Beirut’s finest, Richard Kahwagi, was throwing down the most sinful disco-electro delights, while in Room 3 our favourite Loverboy, Michael Turnbull and altar boy Ian Watt of I Am A Camera, gave us a religious experience popping our pussies in a most ungodly way to the Queen Bey, Li’l Kim and more.
Once again, the Songs of Praise crew delivered an unforgettable monthly musical mass, where we committed a multitude of sins with the many, many hot boys on the dancefloor. I don’t think the Lord would mind though, we were screaming his name the whole time.
