Songs of Praise

02/08/14: while the entire city and her fag hags had set off to Brighton for the weekend, we maturely gave it a pass in favour of a quiet(er) weekend.

Although things didn’t seem so quiet (or mature) when we were stumbling down the steep stairs of East Bloc. But from the sound of the underground we weren’t sure if we were taking our vodka-soaked arses into East Bloc or a time warp. The pop of the 90s filled the venue as special guest Betty Boo played her set to the main room.

The rest of the night was spent cutting a rug to residents Neil Prince, David Oh and The Sugalow Boys who all delivered pop juicier than a celebrity coke scandal. We were even on the podiums taking Iggy Azalea to school at one point.

Oh, that and looking for an eligible man. Which on the weekend of Brighton Pride is like looking for non-addictive painkillers in Lindsay Lohan’s cupboards.

Although talking of men, we did meet one guy that was ready to bang – unfortunately, he was inflatable. And we don’t do airheads. Yeah, we have no idea what a blow up sex doll was doing bouncing around either, but patrons were happily noshing it off for photos. And we thought our Instagram was slutty… Shame.

We raise a glass to SOP, although after quite possibly the worst hangover of this year, we’re not sure we’ll be raising another one anytime soon!
