Sugar

06/12/14: With long residencies at Freedom, the Admiral Duncan and more, Miss Danni Dee is surely one of Soho’s longest serving queens, so when we heard about her night at north London’s home of drag, the Black Cap, we just had to pop along. In Danni’s own words, “Sugar is a monthly non-pretentious, camp as arseholes, we don’t give a shit, let’s party” kinda night.

With our fave boy DJ pin-up, the super sexy Sam DMS on the decks spinning pop and commercial tracks from the 90s to modern day, as befitting a night at the ‘Cap there are also a plethora of performances from Danni herself, Vanity Von Glow and others.

Last Saturday’s performance was a mix of medley by Cher with dance moves by Britney (coz let’s face it dance moves by Cher would probably involve a zimmer frame and a dislocated hip, and on a stage as high as the Cap’s it would be a health and safety nightmare!)

It was also lovely to catch Candy Vanity Heals in the house sipping and gassing with the punters and hot-bear-on-the-door Jamie made us feel VERY welcome. I can see Sugar becoming very addictive.
