THE MEN WHO FELL 2 EARTH

04/06/11: East Bloc reminds me of an edgier version of the secret basement in the film ‘Studio 54’. Not a bad thing to be compared to! This alternative take on gay club life is definitely one to experience, like a secret celebrity haunt, quite unique and fun. Based in Old Street near Shoreditch, the crowd that turns out for monthly night TheMenWhoFell2Earth is as eclectic as the music, with BIG hair and lots of eye shadow. Blasting out punk-funk, dirty disco and remixed rock ‘n’ roll from the resident DJs and guest spin jocks ‘Is Tropical’ headlining tonight(look out for their debut LP, “Native to”, dropping on 13th June on Kitsune Records), it’s the perfect formula at which to let your hair down and be yourself. It’s like working your way through the secret garden as you navigate the maze of darkly lit corridors leading you to rooms of excitement and madness, passing comfy and relaxing booths on your way. So put on your glad rags, get out the extreme styling gel and that man make-up you save for a special occasion and experience the alternative side to nightlife because these ‘men who fell 2 Earth’ have brought something new and different to the scene!

TheMenWhoFell2Earth return on Saturday 2nd July (Pride night), with guests Bright Light Bright Light, David Oh! (Another Night), James Phillips (Best Before) and James Pople.
