31/01/15: Last Saturday night found us whirling giddily under a million mirror balls as Tik Tok rocked it round the clock for a beefed-up birthday bash.
Featuring top party action across two turbo-boosted rooms, a rampant crowd packed out Barcode, despite the sort of nipple-freezing arctic winds and polar snow flurries on Albert Embankment that would have kept lesser mortals curled up on the sofa with a mug of cocoa. Thrillsome anniversary antics included femme-fatale Spanish hostess-with-a-moustache, La Pequena, dragging her cross-dressing pals (including scene-stealing compatriot, Gretta Gargola) for a sophisticated girls’ night out down in Vauxhall. Meanwhile, roof-raising DJ sets came from Steven Artis and Alex Georgiou in the front bar, spinning enough house anthems and dancefloor monsters to get the throng stomping into the small hours. Down the passageway and Borja Peña had the masses going wild on the main floor as the Alomodvaresque Deborah Ombres led the fleet-footed charge amidst a futuristic forest of disco lights. As if that wasn’t enough excitement to satisfy the most demanding of club queens, there were free shots and candies for all as the birthday delights continued through ‘til the miniscule hours. Here’s to another year of fab times at Tik Tok!
