11/02/12: What can we say about Trade that hasn’t been said a million times before?
As the daddy of all after hours clubs, the club that brought hardcore to the masses and the club that introduced us to the first ‘Muscle Alley’, Trade’s name is synonymous with the feel good, hedonistic excesses of the 90s, and we loved it!
Now one of the oldest and most well respected global club brands, a Trade event is both a spectacle and a must-do for hundreds of original ‘Trade babies’ as well as many more recent kids, some of whom weren’t even born when it first threw open it’s doors!
Saturday’s ‘Tainted Love Affair’ Valentine’s special combined our favourite after hours night, now in it’s 22nd year, with one of our favourite south London venues, Electric Brixton, to create an unsurpassable celebration of this iconic legend.
Household names like Pagano, Fat Tony, Nick Tcherniak, et al, some of whom cut their teeth of the decks at Turnmills, were joined by special guest Uto Karem and produced a melange of cutting edge dance music, while giant visuals were projected on to the stage screen and twisted dancers graced the podia. Unquestionably brilliant.
