11/12/13: Vibe at Barcode pulled out all the stops to celebrate DJ Jason Prince’s big 4-0. Friends and fans across the generations came out in droves to wish him well in their own special way.

Hostess Maise Toillette led a cavalcade of stars who sang, danced and brought the house down. Singer Martin Coleman, Jason’s discovery, was an absolute dream to hear and his blessed voice had them swooning in their seats.

The irrepressible Sandra pulled no punches and slayed ‘em in the aisles followed by a Jason/Sandra Pet Shop Boys duet. A darkly festooned Damien braved a cold to warble a tune for his dear friend.

A truly magical moment came when Jason and Rosanna took to the stage. Queen of Vauxhall, Glendora chimed in with a rousing ‘It’s My Party’ followed by the deep grotto goth-tech of Massive Ego who dubbed Jason as “`the Rolling Stones of Hi-Energy Bars.”

Longtime pal Phil Lawrence aka Gary Barlow of Stars-In-Their-Eyes fame, serenaded his friend of 20 years. Lizzie France, the “Aretha of House” delivered her own brand of hi-energy soul.

Other highlights included Jason leading the crowd in an acapella chorus of ‘Everybody’s Free’ that was downright spiritual before the dynamic Angie Brown launched into the song herself.

Pete Martine and Sleaze Sisters closed the show with a real gift, singing ‘Go Girl’ and ‘You’re the Best Thing’ to an enthusiastic house and wrapped it all up with all the acts onstage to sing their version of ‘Brown Girl in the Ring’.

“It seems only natural that we should have Jason’s party here,” says promoter Paul Warden. “He’s been a regular DJ here for ages and we love him.” That was only the beginning for a night that saw both Barcode rooms jamming to the beats laid down by DJs Matt Unique and Rob Ski till the sunrise.

Jason was beaming: “To have all my friends come out and wish me a happy birthday means the world to me.”
