Vogue Fabrics

08/08/2015: Vogue Fabrics is now called VFD. Personally, I enjoy calling it “Voguetta Fabrizia”, but that’s just me.

Anyway whatever you call it, even if you call it Sarah Harding’s Sweatbox, it’s still the EDGIEST, TRENDIEST place in town. It used to sell yards of gorgeous linen, and now it sells, well, queeralicious disco sluttery *shrug*. I always have a great night there. Last time, I met a boy called Xavier, we danced to Mis-Teeq (so, so, so SCANDALOUS) and then he took me for a bagel. It was £1.50 and he was like ‘don’t worry babe, it’s on me.’ Very glam.

It’s the sort of thing that would happen to Drew Barrymore. THIS time, it was the launch of Oxjam, with all proceeds going to Oxfam, the popular charity establishment. Oxfam is great for buying things like series one of Ally McBeal on VHS, cracked Britney Spears EP’s, and small porcelain dolphins. Anyway Saturday night’s shindig represented the start of a series of gigs around the city, again with all proceeds going to the charity.

There was a totes bangin’ set from DJ Alana, who was serving drum and bass disco nonsense. I had a lovely time in the ‘smoking area’, which consists of a small wooden bench and a sort of melted candelabra, very Tim Burton.

Perhaps as a result, I convinced myself the girl I was chatting to was, in fact, Helena Bonham Carter. On reflection, she wasn’t. She worked in Boots.
