WAR 1ST BIRTHDAY

16/02/13: Since War broke out last year, it’s been none stop bedlam with chaos sweeping across the Eastern frontier.

By that of course, I mean the East London scene; where boys have queued round the (East) Bloc to be first to fight the baseline whenever the night’s rolled back round like the game-changing tremor of tank wheels.

Last Saturday, however, looked set to kick off with a bigger bang than ever before – with the club having an entire victorious year of action to celebrate – and so the orders were given, and troops of men fervently amassed in the Studio Space, the warehouse haunt gaining prominence as a hot-spot for the city’s super parties!

What a night of celebration it was, with a steady influx of chiseled featured and cut bodied men marching through the double doors and into a space straight in front of the decks! Hard, sexy house was on continuous loop on the main floor – meted out by the strategic minds of Kris Di Angelis, Severino and JoshYouAre with extra special guest generals Fred Falke and K-Gee taking the front-line for some time.

In the second room, R’n’B, dancehall and hip-hop were the orders of the day overseen by the First Lady of Battle, Munroe Bergdorf, and her musical wing-men Sam DMS and Josh. Lieutenants JJ Clark, Raul Pony and Daniel Sallstrom oversaw that the boys were hard at work, fiercely holding their corner on the dancefloor – and Cathal documented the moment with militant precision, camera in tow.

Oh yes, when the call to War comes again, we’ll most certainly be ready to take up arms and hit the dancefloor hard!
