Tell us about Cockette! When did you start the night, where does it take place?
Cockette started three years ago. After few parties we found a home at Plastic Club in Milan, which is the best club in Italy where people like Madonna, Keith Haring and Grace Jones used to go.
What makes it different to other Italian nights?
The continuous journey in electronic music… all parties have different themes… and the energy that the people emanate makes the party unique.
What can we expect musically?
Cockette is focused all on the music, we like to show different points of view in the electronic world, from classic acid house to techno electronic music.
And what kind of crowd does Cockette attract in Milan?
All kinds of people come to Cockette: gay, queer, lesbo, gay-friendly, bears, punk, fashionista, club kids and all people that like some fun and share it together.
Did you name the night after the famous drag group of 1970s USA?
Yes, the name was taken from the Cockettes and we are in contact with them. They love our work because we keep alive the world of the Cockettes.
What other countries have you taken Cockette to?
No, this is the first time we make a party outside Italy!
