02/07/11: On the night of Pride, The Coronet, a magnificent art-deco venue in Elephant & Castle, was buzzing from dance floor to the highest balcony for the Spanish-originated night that has fast become a London institution: the WE Party. With the theme set as heroes, all the movers and shakers from the gay city had dressed themselves up to attend the bright lights and dazzling production of WE, where they were not disappointed as a myriad of beautiful displays rippled in electronic glory upon the stage and a bevy of sexy half-naked dancers filled the podiums. Musically, the Balaeric-tinged beats and sifting carnival-esque rhythms of DJs Carlos Gallardo and Pagano alongside residents Steve Pitron and Gonzalo Rivas made sure that no one could stand still all night whilst the live PA from diva Shawnee Taylor was a phenomenal slice of power vocals. Confetti canons and laser shows compounded the fun, and the smoking area was the perfect place to catch your breath in the July night air and make new friends. WE made us all feel like heroes that night!
