WIG OUT

10/09/11: Last Saturday night saw WigOut storm the LSE student union with one very special guest.

It’s only bloody Toyah Willcox! To those of us in the summer time of our lives, she’s the 80s pop legend that dreams are made of.

To all you spring chickens, she’s more likely to be that bird off ‘I’m a Celebrity’ or the disembodied voice from Teletubbies. Giving Lady GaGa a run for her money in the ‘I’m a loon’ head-gear department since before her Ladyship was even born, she attracted a crowd of deliciously avant-garde fashion forward freaks to the audience.

She had the guys and girls going totally wild to ‘Echo Beach’. There is something rather wonderful about a woman in her fifties who was once the presenter of ‘Songs of Praise’ rocking out punk style on stage and getting a crowd of gays to mosh. Top quality.

Thank you WigOut! The Next WigOut sees Saffron from Republica grace the stage on September 24th. Bring it on.

Check out more photos from this event and plan your next night out, all in the palm of your hand with the ‘QX Gay London’ iPhone app. Available to download FREE from the iTunes app store.
