24/08/13: London’s beefcake went bank holiday bonkers as XXL rocked back for yet another monumental blowout last weekend.
Shaking mega-venue Pulse to its sturdy foundations, the biggest weekly bears’ bash in town drew in a near-capacity crowd with a rampaging ‘Retro’ shindig that had hairy hunks and burly blokes raising the roof at one of the wildest events of the weekend.
Colossal capers across five rip-roaring arches included resident deck star Christian M transforming the main room into a steamy dance arena with enough commercial party bangers to satisfy even the most demanding of disco daddies. Next door, it was seven-inch smashes all the way as top DJ dude, Joe Egg, gave it to us just the way we like it with a non-stop attack of pop hits keeping the vibe pumpin’.
Elsewhere, the action-packed darkroom proved even more of an eye-opener than usual with guys seizing on the ‘retro’ theme for classic antics to put the likes of Jeff Stryker and those 80s Colt Studios studs in the shade.
Meanwhile, the shenanigans were still heating up inside with more dazzling DJ action to come from Alex Logan and Mark Ames getting all ‘Pac Man’ and ‘Space Invaders’ on our retro asses as the sensational spree continued through ‘til super late. Get those hard hats at the ready as the mighty XXL returns with a towering ‘Construction’ spectacular this Saturday!
