CITY OF QUEBEC

CITY OF QUEBEC

16/01/11: With miserable drizzly weather and no Central Line, the gods were certainly conspiring against us on Sunday night as we tried to get to the Quebec, but not easily dissuaded, we negotiated public transport and arrived just in time for the divine Lady la Rue. A graduate of the Dave Lynn Academy, her normal stomping ground is Brighton and Hove (actually), but spreading her drag wings, she has landed firmly in London town compete with a full 40 minute show of patter and singalongs of ‘When You Smile’, ‘Copacabana’ and more. With much comedy including telegrams and a phone call with the Queen, a slot of ITN news and a Jim’ll Fix It style problem-solving session, her show was fresh and entertaining and went down a storm with the packed audience that included the fabulous Cookie on her last night in London (off to Hollywood apparently). Definitely one to watch!
