Guest judge at G-A-Y Porn Idol next week will be the fabulous Detox, formerly of DWV fame! We caught up with the acid-tongued drag queen to find out what she’ll be expecting – no, demanding – from her contestants with their goods!
Describe Detox in five words.
Crass. Energetic. Ballsy. Sincere. Ridiculous.
What’s your greatest career achievement?
There’s been so many, but I’d have to say performing at Life Ball. It was magical.
What’s your proudest personal moment?
That’s a tough one…I try and lead a very generous life and believe in doing good unto others and doing so with humility and grace. I think anyone who lives by similar terms should constantly be proud.
Tell us a backstage secret about life on RuPaul’s Drag Race?
It was quite boring honestly. We were kept away from each other. I pretty much cried in my bathtub every day.

If DWV were Destiny’s Child (any incarnation!) which member would you be?
I’d be Detox from DWV.
You are guest judge at Porn Idol soon. How do the contestants woo you?
Give me foreskin shots and bend over and cough.
What are you looking for in the ideal stripper?
Rhythm. I hate it when gogo boys can’t dance and just do the side step.
You headlined G-A-Y at Heaven back in May. How was it sharing the same stage that Lady Gaga stripped naked on?
I wasn’t even aware of that as I’m not much of a fan…but it was incredible being in same space as Madge.

It wouldn’t be so private if I described it, now would it? 😉
